Getting Ready to Take Your Puppy Home

All of our puppies are raised in our home, not in a breeding kennel. Along with completing our enrichment and development, they have been loved and cuddled from the time they come into this world. Each puppy is socialized to men, women, and children of all ages and animals (dogs, cats, chickens). To help build confidence we provide sound desensitization by playing sounds (thunder, fireworks, banging pans, babies crying, music, traffic, and so on) that they may encounter which helps keep them calm in situations that may otherwise make them fearful or anxious.

We start potty training in boxes with litter that consists of artificial grass and/or pellets (alfalfa and/or pine) as soon as they can get around. They become accustomed to relieving themselves in a specific location, making further potty training in an outside location easier for owners. Puppies are introduced to crates when they are moved from the whelping box to a larger enclosure at around 3 weeks. They can go in and out as they like to help them feel safe and comfortable.

Our puppies are usually ready to go home at about 8 weeks of age after they receive health clearance from our veterinarian.

How Will You Get Your Puppy?

  • You are welcome to arrange a time to pick up your puppy at our home.

  • We can arrange a time to meet you in Charleston, WV, or Huntington, WV

There is no additional charge for either of the two above options.

  • We can deliver to the airports at Charleston, WV, or Huntington, WV for you or a Flight Nanny to pick up and fly your puppy home in airplane cabin. See the airport information below.

There is no additional charge for the above option unless Health Certificate, airline-approved pet carrier, and/or other travel supplies are needed.

  • We can arrange to deliver (or meet) at a location within a 4-hour radius of our home (approximately 200 miles one way) with a delivery fee. We may deliver to  a further location, personally deliver to a further location but this is not guarantee and a delivery fee will be assessed.

  • We can arrange to deliver to the airports in Columbus, OH, or Hebron, KY (near Cincinnati, OH) for you or a Flight Nanny to pick up and fly your puppy home. See the airport information below.

For the above two options, mileage charges will apply at the rate described below, and charges for Health Certificate, airline-approved pet carrier, and/or other travel supplies as needed.

We do not ship puppies via Airline Cargo. Many airlines have completely halted shipping of pets in cargo. The risk of an animal getting stranded if a flight is cancelled or changed is too great.
